About

The Food Pantry Garden is located behind the Parish Center. We grow a large variety of vegetables in 4′ x 10′ raised beds in a fenced garden for distribution by the St. George Food Pantry. Vegetables grown are radishes, lettuce, spinach, beets, carrots, snap peas, cucumber, zucchini, green peppers, green beans, eggplant and tomatoes. The beds are prepared in April by adding compost. We plant, weed, water as needed (using a long hose from the parish center) , harvest, and succession plant during the season and clean up in the fall. We try to check and work in the garden every 4-7 days, more often in dry spells. Maintenance on the fence and pathways all year round. Work with other parish members. No gardening experience needed.
